If you lived in Canada or England, you would know the spelling is a proper spelling. The US often spells words differently than most of the rest of the English speaking world.
Re: " . . . . the pipeline came within 2 or 3 feet of falling off their supports" That amazes me. Our engineering is marvelous; especially when pitted against "Mother Nature" Haha. We have friends that moved to Alaska about 5 years ago. My wife wanted to move there; feeling adventurous. We have 9 children and she thought that the 11 of us would earn a lot of money being citizens. That's much too cold for me, however. It gets too cold here in Florida to suit me. I'm certain that you have experienced cold winters in Grand Rapids. I used to live in Buffalo, but I wouldn't want to live there permanently. I'm still thinking about your comment that the pipeline came within 2 to 3 feet from falling off the supports. Wow.
I enjoyed your post on the KXL; never realizing how well the Alaskan pipeline was engineered and built. To where would one go to read more about said construction; especially that portion about the testing it took during earthquakes? Thanks. SA
